Solgar Oceanic Beta Carotene is a substance from plants that the body converts into vitamin A. Beta-carotene also acts as an antioxidant and an immune system booster. Other members of the antioxidant carotenoid family include cryptoxanthin, alpha-carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein, and lycopene. However, unlike beta-carotene, most of these nutrients are not converted to vitamin A in significant amounts. Dark green and orange-yellow vegetables are good sources of beta-carotene. It is also available in beta-carotene supplements.
Sugar, salt and starch free. Solgar's Beta Carotene Softgels are free of corn, yeast, wheat and dairy products and are formulated without the use of preservatives, artificial flavors or colors. Vitamin A Activity D Salina, including other naturally occurring Carotenoids, such as Zeaxanthin, Cryptoxanthin, Lutein and Alpha Carotene.
