Beta Carotene Supplements and their Benefits
Beta Careotene is the deep colored orange pigment, also reffered to as caratenoids, found in vegetables such as spinach, carrots, kale, and broccolli. Beta carotene is also found in animal sources such as milk, liver, and eggs. Beta Carotene is important to the human body because when ingested, it is converted to retinol, a form of vitamin A that the body can easily use. If the body has enough vitamin A then, instead of being converted, the beta carotene acts as an antioxidant. Some of the benefits of beta carotene supplements include: boosting the immune sytem, a strong antioxidant, lowers the risk of certain harmful diseases, promotes eye and vision health, and a lowered risk of heart disease.
